October Newsletter and Christmas cards for 2010
Now that our show season is over, Colin is concentrating on completing some commissions before turning his mind towards the images for this year's Christmas cards. We usually offer two alternatives, and he's thinking along the lines of a red grouse and a mountain hare. If you'd like to receive our October newsletter, which contains full details of our Christmas card designs for 2010 (all individually-signed and very collectable!) please drop us a line with your name and address.
Corporate Christmas cards
High quality, distinctive Christmas cards are a great way to advertise your business. We can offer competitive prices for overprinting, and a personal yet professional service. You can choose from either of our new designs for 2010, or a range of other designs. Contact us now to discuss your requirements, and to ask for a quote.
Overprinting of Christmas cards
If you're looking to add a personal touch to your Christmas cards this year, we can offer overprinting of your name, address, and/or a personal message. (Minimum order of 60 cards).
New Originals
Some beautiful new paintings and drawings are now available to view and purchase on our 'Originals for Sale' pages. Subjects include a peregrine in flight and black grouse at the lek, and there are also some new woodcock pin-feather paintings. All are framed to conservation standards, and ready to be delivered. Colin keeps the Latest Paintings page updated regularly so you can watch images in progress. If you see anything that you particularly like, give us a call or drop us an email to register your interest.
Evening talks and art workshops
Colin is available as a professional speaker for societies such as art groups, ornithological societies and wildlife clubs. He will do more than just talk - he will demonstrate his painting techniques and (in the case of workshops) give some revolutionary tips and tuition. Give us a call if you'd like to book him as a speaker.
If you're a struggling and frustrated artist, Colin also offers one-to-one tuition, concentrating on the areas where you'd like to improve. At least three of his former pupils are now selling their work professionally. If you'd like to discover or refresh your artistic talent, why not contact him to discuss it further?
Woodcock Pin-feather Paintings
Colin's woodcock pin-feather paintings (paintings of woodcock created with a woodcock's pin-feather) are becoming highly sought-after. Each painting is totally unique, created entirely with a tiny pin-feather instead of a brush. As well as being charming in their own right, the value of these paintings has increased dramatically over the last few years, making them arguably a much better investment than anything currently available on the Stock Exchange! To read more, go to our special section on woodcock under 'Features and Articles', or give us a call and we'll be happy to send you some more information. We will also be happy to let you know when the next woodcock pin-feather painting is on the easel.
Framing service
A framed limited edition print makes a lovely gift, and will be treasured for a lifetime. We offer a high quality framing service for all our prints, with a choice of mouldings to suit each image. Delivery is by secure, reliable courier. Take a look through our range of prints or give us a ring to find out more.
'Daring to Fly'
Launched in 2008, 'Daring to Fly' is proving as popular as ever. This beautiful hardback book offers an absorbing and entertaining insight into Colin's artistic talent, his career, and his inspiration. It's a lovely gift idea for anyone who's interested in birds and wildlife, or the landscape of the British Isles. For budding artists, there's a valuable section on Tips and Techniques, most of which you won't find in a textbook! Contact us direct to purchase a signed copy (£45 plus £8 post and packing). Just a warning - after buying it as a present for a friend, many clients have come back and treated themselves to a copy as well!
Sansom Photography
Sansom Photography is an exciting new wedding photography service offered by our daughter, Verity, and her boyfriend, Chris Sansom. Both graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in July; Chris's degree was in Film and Moving Image Production, and Verity's was in Fine Art. Over the summer they have covered a wide range of events and venues, and the response from their clients has been exceptional. Creative, professional and dedicated, with a relaxed style and a definite skill for capturing the moment, they are passionate about the quality of their images. They describe their style as elegant and contemporary, and the quality speaks for itself. If you're looking for a wedding or portrait photographer, or know someone who is, take a look at their website: www.sansomphotography.co.uk. More images will be added soon, as the website is being re-designed, so keep checking regularly!
Leonie...
Leonie, our younger daughter, has her own unique artistic talent which you can see on her website www.leoniewoolf.co.uk. She is currently experimenting with oil paints, and has created a number of new originals as well as some uniquely beautiful greetings cards. She has an eye for colour and texture, and she draws her inspiration from the natural world. Leonie's work is available to buy, so if you see something on her website that you like, drop her a line to enquire the price.
A keen sea kayaker, Leonie has paddled in some lovely locations as far apart as New Zealand and the Isle of Mull. Her website contains some stunning images from her many excursions, and these experiences inspire much of her art. With her three-star sea kayaking award now under her belt, Leonie is aiming to be a qualified sea kayaking instructor before very long.
New home for Jo's Journal
Jo's Journal has been going for quite a while now, and it's growing in size all the time. We've now found a new home for it on Wordpress, a blogging website. You can still catch up with Jo's latest entries, and she'll keep it updated with posts and photos in exactly the same way as before. Check it out and let us know what you think!
Website makeover
The new site is now live! We have tried very hard to improve the ease of use by making all the pages uniform and less cluttered. The links on the left all now relate to the online shop and items for sale. Top links are for information and features to browse etc. If you wish to purchase items or to view your account, please log in using the button along the top row.
Our other aim in re-designing the site was to make the images stand out. We hope you agree that your eye is now drawn to the images, which, after all, is the main purpose of this website. News items (Latest News, My Latest Paintings etc) will now appear on the right hand side of the Home Page only. Click on the 'more' text link at the end of each item for extra information.
We'd love to know your reaction, so please email us with your views!
Mike Gadd of Boston Web Design is the genius behind our website... if you're looking for a new site of your own, we recommend you to contact him.
