Website makeover

We've decided to bring a fresh look to our website, which has remained fairly unchanged in design for a few years now. It's time for a change! We'll be keeping the same content and features, but giving it a crisp new look. Keep checking back, and let us know your reaction to the changes. Woodcock Pin-feather Paintings

Colin's woodcock pin-feather paintings (paintings of woodcock created with a woodcock's pin-feather) are becoming highly sought-after. Each painting is totally unique, created entirely with a tiny pin-feather instead of a brush. As well as being charming in their own right, the value of these paintings has increased dramatically over the last few years, making them arguably a much better investment than anything currently available on the Stock Exchange! Art Weekend in September

We've now looking at organising an Art Weekend in September. Colin will provide one or two days' professional tuition, allowing you to develop and explore your own artistic skills in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of a small, informal group. Details and dates have yet to be finalised, but please contact us now if you'd like to be kept informed.

 

New Originals

Colin is working on a number of new original watercolours and sketches, and he regularly updates the 'Latest Paintings' section with images in progress. If you see anything that you particularly like, give us a call or drop us an email to register your interest as soon as possible, because many originals are now being reserved before they're finished! Without obligation, we'll show you the painting when it's completed, allowing you a chance to buy before it's put up for sale on the website.

 

New Limited Edition Print: 'Power and Grace'

Our first print release of 2010 is this majestic head study of a Bald Eagle. The image has an immediate appeal - not only for the arresting expression in the bird's eyes, but because of the striking beauty of its plumage and the undeniable strength in its beak.

The study has been painted in pure watercolour, meaning that no white paint was used: the whiteness of the plumage is the watercolour paper, and the deep blue background pigment has been painted around the bird's outline. For this reason, Colin calls this study 'A Challenge of Technique'!

Produced on archive-quality paper using light-fast inks, each print is signed and numbered, and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Only 50 prints will be produced world-wide, each one carefully colour-matched by Colin to ensure the finest quality of reproduction.

'Power and Grace' is priced at £95 plus post & packing. For additional pencil remarques (original pencil sketches in the white border of the print) the total price is £150 plus post and packing. Evening talks and art workshops

Colin is available as a professional speaker for societies such as art groups, ornithological societies and wildlife clubs. He will do more than just talk - he will demonstrate his painting techniques and (in the case of workshops) give some revolutionary tips and tuition. Give us a call if you'd like to book him as a speaker in 2010.

New limited edition print: 'Tranquillity'

For winter 2009 we're releasing a new limited edition print, entitled 'Tranquillity'. Limited to 100 copies, all signed and numbered, it's a beautifully simple image of a pair of snipe. You can now view and purchase this online.

'Daring to Fly', was launched last year, and it's proving as popular as ever. This beautiful hardback book offers a real insight into Colin's artistic talent, his career, and his inspiration.

'Peace' greetings cards - new stock

We're delighted to say that we now have new stock of our very popular 'Peace' cards, featuring a mute swan asleep on still water. These cards have been out of print for quite a while, but they're now available to order online (please see our 'Greetings Cards' section).

Verity...

Verity is now in her third year of her Fine Art degree course at Leeds Metropolitan University. She took the opportunity to exhibit a few of her photographs on our stand at the CLA Game Fair in July, and these attracted a lot of interest. Leonie, our younger daughter, has her own unique artistic talent which you can see on her website www.leoniewoolf.co.uk She's also a keen sea kayaker, and her website contains some stunning images from her many trips around the Scottish islands.
