Daring to Fly, showing the Japanese endpapers and the silver blocking on the actual book cover, this image also gives you an idea of the quality of the dustjacket - printed on heavyweight art paper, which is also folded top and bottom to resist the normal wear and tear that a jacket gets - more evidence of the high quality we have specified in the book's production. |

Daring to Fly, showing the chapter heading and sketches for the Mountains and Moorlands section, what the pictures can't show you is the feel and the thickness of the paper, the 170gsm specially chosen paper was made specifically for us direct from the paper mill. We have also tried to use materials that are ecologically sound, the paper is from an FSC registered mill. The most important consideration given to the choice of paper, was of course to reproduce the images as faithfully as possible. This paper has surpassed our hopes and the sketches look and almost 'feel' like real sketches, without the crisp photographic quality that some printing papers impart to their images. Watercolours are difficult to print for this reason and we are extremely happy with the sympathetic way they have been printed. |
